Credit Report

✓ Last verified 14 Sep 2026
The short version A credit report is the detailed record behind your credit score - every loan, credit card, and repayment (or missed payment) history a bureau has on file - and it's worth checking periodically for errors, not just when applying for credit.

While your CIBIL score is a single summary number, the underlying credit report lists every credit account, its current status, payment history, and any missed payments in detail. Errors do occur - an account that was actually closed still showing as open, a payment incorrectly marked late - and these can drag down your score without your knowledge until you actually check the report. See our CIBIL score article for how the score itself is derived from this underlying data.
